What is linguistics?

Linguistics is the scientific study of language. It involves the analysis of language form, language meaning, and language in context, as well as the social, cultural, historical, and political factors that influence language. Linguists traditionally analyze human language by observing an interplay between sound and meaning. Historical and evolutionary linguistics focus on how languages change and grow, particularly over an extended period of time.

Comment
In this topic about what is linguistic, I had the opportunity to learn that it is a scientific study of language and all that is related to it. Also, language in context, social or cultural, historical, and political factors that influence it. How English grow up and the features that it studies like phonetic, morphology, syntax, etc. The worst thing that I had to learn is those features because I did not study it deeper before.
